Planned Parenthood Action Fund Of The Pacific Southwest Endorses Measure B

The healthcare provider joins firefighters, nurses and frontline workers in supporting the initiative to fund critical San Diego County services

SAN DIEGO, CA— Today, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest endorsed Measure B, the San Diego Health & Safety Act, joining firefighters, nurses, frontline workers and others in supporting the measure to fund critical San Diego county services like wildfire prevention and healthcare. 

Statement from Jenny Black, President and CEO, Planned Parenthood Action Fund of the Pacific Southwest: 

“Across San Diego County, families are facing growing barriers to obtaining the care they need to stay healthy. Measure B would create a reliable, locally controlled funding source to expand access to health care services for uninsured and underinsured residents, strengthen county health programs, and invest in critical health and human services. As a trusted reproductive health care provider and advocate, Planned Parenthood sees every day how gaps in coverage and affordability prevent patients from accessing timely care, treatment, and support services. Measure B is an opportunity to reduce health disparities and make meaningful investments in the health and well-being of communities across San Diego County.  At a time when federal funding for essential health services faces increasing uncertainty, local investments in public health have never been more important. Long-term, sustainable funding is critical to protecting and strengthening the health care safety net, ensuring residents can access the care they need, and safeguarding the health and well-being of San Diego County for generations to come.”
