Yes on Measure B Campaign Condemns Federal ACA Exchange Cuts, Urges Local Control Over Healthcare

With Roughly 100K San Diegans At Risk Of Losing Coverage, The Latest Attack Underscores Need for Measure B  

SAN DIEGO, CA— Today, the Yes on Measure B campaign condemned the plans from the Trump Administration to kick 760,000 off the ACA/Obamacare exchange allegedly for “fraud.” In San Diego County, roughly 136,000 residents purchase healthcare through Covered California, with nearly 100,000 relying on federal ACA subsidies. These federal actions, coupled with projected 2027 premium hikes of up to 13% for local exchange buyers, threaten to push affordable healthcare out of reach for tens of thousands of working families. The campaign issued the following statement: 

“It’s clear that Washington will stop at nothing to take away healthcare from anyone and everyone, forcing our local community to pick up the tab. We cannot rely on the federal government to protect the health and safety of San Diego County. That is why Measure B is so critical, because it puts San Diegans in control of their own healthcare.” 

Measure B is a citizen-led initiative on the November 2026 ballot designed to protect local healthcare coverage, public health programs, 911 emergency response, public safety, and safe, affordable childcare in San Diego County.
