Yes On Measure B Launches First Ad, “On The Line,” Showcasing How Measure B Will Fix San Diego’s Public Safety Crisis In Face of Looming Federal Budget Cuts
SAN DIEGO, CA—Today, the Yes on B campaign released its first ad, “On The Line,” underscoring the severe threats facing San Diego County’s public safety services and outlining how Measure B will protect the region’s public safety and healthcare systems.
The ad highlights a critical statistic: one out of four 911 calls in San Diego County is currently put on hold. Without Measure B, this delay will be compounded by Washington’s budget threats, which risk worsening local call delays, crowding emergency rooms, and forcing layoffs of frontline healthcare workers and first responders.
Measure B directly addresses this crisis by securing dedicated funding to hire additional paramedics, firefighters, and frontline personnel while providing hospitals the vital support needed to keep doors open and deliver rapid, lifesaving care.
Measure B has earned broad endorsements from local firefighters, doctors, ER nurses, and healthcare advocates across San Diego County, in addition to League of Women Voters San Diego, environmental advocates, and community leaders.
The ad features John Clark, a San Diego County firefighter and the deputy district vice president of San Diego County Firefighters CAL-Fire Local 2881. Clark said:
“As a firefighter and a first responder, I know how fast things can change in an instant,” Clark said. “Washington’s and Sacramento’s budget cuts will threaten our ability to respond to emergencies quickly and our ability to prevent the next catastrophic wildfire, when San Diego County needs it the most. We cannot compromise on San Diego County’s public safety, and that’s why I support Measure B.”
